"i don't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. i don't want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. you know, as a career, i don't want to do that."-l.d.
at work i sell stuff. by producing commercials that encourage people to buy stuff. consume. use. want. waste.
but we also do pro-bono work. and i'm now on the "green taskforce" for my company, helping to eliminate some of our resource consumption.
my career is the antithesis of what i studied, environmental science. all that muir and thoreau. wasted? maybe not...
post-script...
many times i wish my brain was an etch-a-sketch. i could shake it up and start over.
"eternal sunshine" style.
get rid of song lyrics, replace with poetry. trade the shallowness of my youth with metaphysics. memorize geography instead of how to properly route an invoice through my company.
