calvary song.

first sunburn of the year. best, happiest day spent alone in i can't even remember how long!

saw the sunrise. got a big coffee. the weather was perfect. walked around dc for about 6 hours. from columbia heights down to adams morgan. over to GW. onto the white house. the washington monument. lincoln memorial. hirshhorn gardens....

went off the beaten path to a gazebo type domed building and on it came across my great great great great uncle's name. etched in granite. pretty fantastic.

in front of the department of treasury my ipod shuffles to "cash rules everything around me". the perfection of that was the only time i've ever wished i had twitter. i am under no illusion that anyone cares about the minutia of my life. that anyone reads this blog thing amazes me. i text some people about the wu incident and walk on...

spot a tour bus. not really a novel sight in dc. it says "promised land tours". then shuffle decides on lauryn hill "for zion".

in front of the capitol police "coup d'etat" by refused comes on.

remember it's a full moon. weird shit happens.

i'm exhausted. total sensory overload.

if they could bottle the heavily perfumed air from the cherry blossoms blooming right now and sell it, i think there would be no need for prozac anymore.

the smell is intoxicating. after a few hours my allergies inevitably kicked in and i started coughing in the smithsonian. loud echoing coughs in a museum aren't ideal. tomorrow i'll suck it up and buy some clairitin.

p.s. billy is my new bff!
